It’s Recycle Bowl! This national competition tracks and weighs amount of recyclable material dispose in the schools’ blue bins. Wade has placed 2nd for the third consecutive year!

Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge and Wade’s Battle of the Bags Contest

Go Green is participating in the Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge, a nationwide contest to see who can recycle the most plastic bags. Go Green is also having a Battle of the Bags Contest amongst the classes to see who turns in the most plastic bags. Turn in your plastic bags throughout the school year and Go Green will recycle it for you. Plastic Bags that can be recycled include: newspapers bags, dry cleaning bags, bread bags, veggie bags, product wraps (those found on toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), furniture wraps, electronic wraps including bubble wrap, plastic retail bags, food storage bags (Ziploc and other re-sealable bags), cereal box liners. Make sure all bags are clean, food free, and dry before turning them in. Wade came in second place in the Mid Atlantic Region and received a bench made from recycled film!

Wade is a No Idle Zone. Please turn off your vehicle engine while waiting for your student. By cutting down on hazardous pollutions, this will make the air healthier, help the environment and keep money in your pocket.

Blue Bin Recycle

Each classroom, office, and lunch room is outfitted with a blue bin for general single stream recycling at Wade. Items that are recycled in the school are paper, paper bags, cardboards, glass jars and bottles, plastic bottles, plastic tubs, wide containers such as yogurt cups, aluminum, tin and steel cans, food boxes, milk and juice carton and boxes, newspaper, magazines, and junk mail.

Plastic Bag Recycle

Plastic bags CAN be recycled! They just require a different type of recycling which is why they are recycled separate from plastic bottles and containers. Plastic bags can be recycled into new products like low-maintenance fencing and decking, building and construction products, and new plastic bags. Go Green is participating in the Trex Plastic Bag Recycle Contest, a nationwide contest to see who can recycle the most plastic bags. Crayola ColorCycle

Do you have any markers that no longer work?  We have the perfect solution for you! Don't throw them away, recycle them at Wade!  Wade will collect them and send them off to Crayola to repurpose used markers.
